If you’re in London this weekend, head to Bake for Syria to indulge in tasty treats from the UK’s top bakers, all in aid of a good cause
On Saturday 29 July, from 10am – 5pm, join Lily Vanilli for Bake For Syria, set to be the biggest bake sale of the year. For the day, Columbia Road will be given over to a cake extravaganza, with Vanilli not only joined by such East London neighbours as Violet Cakes, but top names and producers from further afield. Run in aid for the very worthwhile cause #CookforSyria, raising money for Unicef’s Children of Syria Fund, the event will also promote the rich culinary culture of the country, so expect interesting bakes with a Middle Eastern flavour.
There’ll also be a Syrian-inspired bake off, so bring along your best creations by 3pm to be judged by a star panel including Rosie Birkett, Chetna Makan, Lily Vanilli, Felicity Spector and Clerkenwell Boy. The winner will get their recipe featured on the Cook for Syria website.
